Adam Leftwich began singing while working as a teacher and translator in the Czech Republic after graduating from London University in Electronic Engineering. He studied for four years at Ostrava University with professor of voice Josef Fryščák. Adam toured in eight countries with the University Choir, including as guest soloist in Spain, Mexico and Brazil.

Back in England, Adam worked with a number of companies before embarking on a three year postgraduate diploma course in 2005 at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he studied with Patrick McGuigan. He is currently guest at Liberec Opera and Plzen Opera, and studying with Luděk Lébl.
